But yesterday I knew I had to cook something to share with everyone, so I did just that! I zeroed in on an Italian dinner of Pasta Aglio Olio, Veg Au Gratin, and Garlic Bread, and I am sharing the recipes here!

1. Pasta Aglio Olio

Ingredients

4 tbsp oil
3 large cloves of garlic, crushed
2 tsp red chilli flakes
1 tsp oregano
300 gm pasta (preferable spaghetti)
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
5 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Salt to taste

Method
1. Boil pasta in sufficient water along with some salt.
2. Once the pasta is done, in a frying pan, heat oil. Add garlic, oregano, and chilli flakes. Cook for about one minute. The oil will be infused with the flavor of garlic and chillies, so you can remove them from the oil if you want to. I didn't!
3. Add the pasta to the frying pan, and coat thoroughly.
4. Add salt and pepper and mix well.
5. Sprinkle in the cheese and mix well.
6. I've been reading a lot of food blogs lately, and have come out inspired! I have always loved cooking, and I always wanted to be a chef. But well, not everything works out as you would want them to, right?

So well, this blog is an attempt at sharing my recipes with you. I am not a gourmet chef, nor am I a super cook. But I am passionate, and I think that is all that matters!

So, in celebration, how about I share the recipe of chocolate truffle cookies with you?

I made a batch today, and they turned out to be simply scrumptious!

Chocolate Truffle Cookies (Adapted from Savvy Cookbook)

Ingredients

450 gm caster sugar
125 gm butter
5 eggs
125 gm cocoa powder
250 gm flour
3 tsp baking powder
200 gm icing sugar

Method

1. Cream butter and caster sugar in a bowl till well blended.
2. Beat eggs, and slowly mix them into the butter and sugar mix. Blend in the cocoa.
3. Sift flour and baking powder together. Fold into the butter mixture till well blended.
4. Rest the dough for about half an hour in a cool place.
5. Spoon the dough into round shapes and place on the baking tray. Use only a small quantity, and keep them spaced, since they will expand in the heat.
6. Bake at 200 degree C for about 10 minutes.
7. Cool on a wire rack, and sprinkle with icing sugar.
8.
